Cloud computing is nothing new: in fact, Assist has been consulting in cloud computing services for a long time. The abstraction of core computing components such as storage, applications and desktops to a different location is achieved primarily through virtualising those services; one of Assist's core competencies.

For a number of years, companies have benefited from a 'cost-per-month' model provided through Cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) applications, such as Salesforce.com, and other cloud-based solutions for burst capacity and data crunching (Infrastructure as a Service). It makes sense to provide certain work streams from the Cloud, and over the coming years Assist believe that many of the more traditional 'on-premise' services will be delivered from the Cloud - whether from a public cloud such as Amazon EC2 or from a private cloud.
